US EcoGen uses a standard reference plant design to reduce costs, speed development of new biomass projects, and enhance operating and maintenance characteristics. Within the standard reference design, each US EcoGen Biomass Electrical Generating Facility (“Generating Facility”) will utilize proven conventional direct-fired, bubbling fluidized bed biomass boiler and steam turbine technology in a “bottom cycle” configuration. Vertical integration into biomass sourcing, processing, transport and supply through US EcoGen Trading, ensures a robust and high quality fuel supply.
US EcoGen Wind develops off-shore wind projects in partnership with Hexicon (www.hexicon.eu), a Swedish off-shore wind technology company. US EcoGen Wind is Hexicon’s exclusive partner to the patented multi-turbine floating platform technology to North America.
US EcoGen Solar develops utility scale photo-voltaic, solar projects. The first project under development is an 80 MW grid connected solar facility.
